agadir

Agadir is located on the atlantic coast 508km south of Casablanca 173km of Essaouira ,and via the A7 motorway at 235km west of Marrakesh , in the soussregion. Agadir is the capital of the administrative region  Souss-Massa-Draa and seat of the prefecture of Agadir-Ida Outanane.

POULATION
 The city has about 500,000 inhabitants.Tois languages are spoken in the city : the Arab ( mostly Darija ,the Moroccan Arabic dialect ),Berber (by the Amazighsand French. )
it is now the largest seaside resort in Morocco where tourists and foreign residents are attracted by an exceptionally mild climate throughout the year.

 
THE SEASIDE
 Animated and dynamic the seaside tourism consiits of "boulevard du 20 Août " "Avenue Tawada " ,"Boulevard de la Corniche" and the "Avenue de l'oued Souss". it has many restaurants, hotels and modern cafés.

SEAFRONT PROMENADE

 

Agadir has created a pleasant seafront promenade of  about 5km A recent marina with many shops luxury has been built at the foot of the Casbah.

 THE NEW TALBORJT
Rebuilt away fromthe old Talborjt, main's road is Sheikh Mohammed Saadi Boulevard ,named after the winner against the portuguese in 1541 . Other major avenues are the "avenue du president kennedy and "29 février " .
There  is  also  the  mosque Mohammed V , the artisanal unit ,the portuguese Garden of Olhao and it's museum memorial (marking the  twinning  between   Agadir and Olhao )  ,  and the garden Ibn zaydoun .
